| :: Nick Otieno moves into Top 100
For a few years rated at about 125 in the world
wide ratings by respected Boxrec.com, Kenyan Bantamweight, Nick
'Kanyankole' Otieno has broken into the top 70 ratings for the
first time.
After an entertaining outing in Russia in february against IBF
International Champion Eduardo Garcia, in a 12 round contest,
and the 1st round stoppage of well regarded Tanzanian Fancis Miyeyusho,
Otieno now is rated at No. 67 by boxrec.com.
The Russian title fight so the judges scoring 110-118 | 114-114
| 113-115 for the Mexican. The non-title fight against Miyeyusho
was a non-title 10 rounder that the referee stopped in 1 minute
and 20 seconds of the 1st round after the Tanzanian took the whole
count on the canvas after an accurate hook connected to his jaw.
Miyeyusho is the current African Boxing Union Superflyweight Champion.
Nick Otieno is also the current holder of the UBO Bantamweight
World Title and has defended it once in 2007.
