I am a huge Superman fan. Probably one of the biggest fans of the man of steel I know so when they announced that the new Zach Snyder powered Superman flick was on its way I would not be missing that one. So I attended the Friday evening show at the Sarit Centre Fox Cineplex which had been sponsored by our good friends at APA insurance.
The events of the evening started with a few drinks after saying hey to the host of the evening; APA Insurance head of corporate communications Nashipae Orumoy-Mohamed. I am a known Tusker fan but today I wanted to try something different; Heineken. So there I am with some of my friends and we are drinking away and preparing to watch this movie.
The movie was of the 3D type where you are given glasses as you walk in and the quality of the visuals will make you weep with joy. Here is the thing about this Man of Steel; great script. Superman flying in the sky faster than a speeding bullet is awesome and everything but the guys who came up with that story were on point.
The premise of the movie is the story we all know; a child is sent from Krypton to earth and he grows up on a farm in Kansas. Then he saves the world on a regular basis when he grows up. This movie however also includes Krypton folks coming to earth and seeking out Kal-El. Eventually the destruction in the movie would have left the uberdestructive Power Puff Girls in shock. You have to wonder why these folks who fight don’t go to uninhabited planets like Pluto, Mars or even further in Rongai.
The cast list is as big as they get; Kevin Costner, Laurence Fishburne and Russell Crowe in a supporting role tells you just how seriously the Hollywood honchos are taking this movie. And they all deliver. If you can please watch this movie. Its very good.
A big shout out the folks from APA Assurance who hosted the pre cocktail which happened just before the awesome movie. Below are some of the folks who showed up on Friday.
