:: Nairobi Facebook changes
05 June 2008

Alright guys and girls. There have been a few changes since I was tracking those who are near and dear to me (and you too I hope!). While I can't even pretend to know like one third of Nairobi. Here are a few changes that have been going down. And off course since I recently joined Facebook, I have to use the style of that networking site. Have I missed anything?

:: Tony Mochama wrote a poetry anthology called "So what if I am a literary gangster?" He also nearly wore a wedding dress. It was really close.

:: Gitau Muraguri left the biggest food company in the world Nestle and joined the biggest bank in Kenya by capitalisation Barclays Bank.

:: Martha Nyagi Kibi left Chase bank and went on to Barclays.

:: Isaac Maluki left AIM and joined the start-up that is Doanis. Pinky and the Brain need tips from this guy if they really intend to take over the world.

:: Angela Githuthu left Reckitbenkiser and joined the chocolate factory that is Cadbury. When do I collect my cavity inducing goodness?

:: Eddah Kaguthi moved back to Nairobi and is working with one of those international agencies that has its offices in Nairobi, Geneva and New York.

:: Tony Ngare needs to find a new place to live now that Man U have won the Champions League.

:: Steve Murua walked 10km and watched Iron Man the other day. He is also back on the boards at Phoenix. Can I hear an amen!

:: Robert Mburu left the Diamond Trust Bank and joined the Kenya Commercial Bank in a more or less similar role.

:: Gerry Gitau finally started his own technology firm Essential Technologies & Solutions Ltd. It was about time.

:: Eddie Mbugua went to Nigeria and gave his best shot at being the African Apprentice. He left the show in a blaze of glory with hugging, tears and drama aplenty. I expected nothing less from this one of our favourite thespians.

:: Al Kags is now working for the Grand Coalition Government under Raimilio. Be nice to him.

:: Kent Libiso started a new joint called Wasanii. Its the one where Whispers aka Whisi drunk alot.

:: Arno Kopecky was seeing drinking a Pilsner Lager at Wasanii.

:: Brian Muthiani and Sheila Harrison got married. It was a beautiful wedding with the reception at the Intercontinental.

:: Fred Simiyu left the Sarova group and joined the Kenya International Conference Centre as General Marketing Manager. He is now chairman of the Marketing Society of Kenya.

:: Jack Muriuki got a lovely young daughter and is enthralled with this new addition to his life. Congratulations kind sir.

:: Judy Wairuiru continues taking over the world one airline at a time. Does she know that we miss her terribly?

:: Eudiah Kamonju got a job as an editorial officer with Discount Securities Limited a stock broking firm. No, I don't know what an editorial officer is.

:: Terry Anne Chebet continues writing great poetry even as she holds down a job and raises her young one. Where does she get all the energy?!

:: Mumbi Mumbari left Ketepa and joined Reckittbenkiser

:: Wayua Muli joined a little magazine in a role I am not sure about. I think its called True Love or something.

:: Anthony Wangari got a brand new son. His name is NOT 3rd bodie.

:: Rosemary Nduta (with a little help from Deno) got a young son. She called him Joel. I call her blessed.

:: Kamal Kaur got a brand new career; running a company and kicking my ass on Facebook. She continues to make me look forward to Mondays.

:: Kingwa Kimencu's next book promises to be a page turner. We can't wait!

:: June Wambui continues to enthrall with whimsical platitudes and excellent poetry on her blog.

:: Millicent Muthoni continues to drive me up the wall with her "man hating" column in the Saturday Standard.

:: Patricia Mbatia-Macharia left Multichoice Kenya and joined Exp Momentum. Hey were moving on up(movin' on up)/ to the sky (movin' on up) /to a deluxe apartment, in the sky...

:: Charles "CEO" Otieno continues to edit the youth bible. Avoid him until the Man U euphoria ends.

:: Mathieu Flamini left Arsenal and joined AC Milan. Sob.

:: Joseph Ngunjiri is the guru where Kenyan books are concerned. Anyone who dares argue with me on this gets a Britney Spears thrown at them on Facebook.

:: Simiyu Barasa wrote directed and produced "Toto Millionaire" a new movie in the Kenyan film business. Buy it or I will sic them gremlins on you!

:: Phylis Migwi left hell and finally started her own company. She is said to be enjoying enterpreneurship to the max.

:: Potash moved again. We don't know where. He finally started updating his blog. Cheers all round.

:: Sharon Kyungu stopped doing PR for the Kenya Ports Authority and decided to have a go at National Museums of Kenya.

:: Maik Kwambo plays rugby, writes poetry and supports Arsenal. How cool is that?

:: Carol Odero continues to give valuable advice on how to dress. I refuse to follow her advice even though I am fashion challenged.

:: Misiko Andere joined the evil empire. Artscene has quickly gone to the dogs and NTV this morning which she is a part of is slighly improved.

:: Barack Obama clinched the presidential ticket for the Demoratic Party of the USA. A Kenyan will rule the world!

:: Adrian Ambe is still alive and well in the US.

:: TK Kitana finally broke through with Tahidi High and a KPLC campaign to highlight theft of their physical infrastucture. Its about bloody time!

:: Johnson Mwangi continues his march to world domination on his trusy bike. Be afraid, be very afraid.

:: Valentine Njoroge is doing more public speaking and went back on air. You go girl!

:: Japhet Miano has been seeing perambulating in a major European city working for DHL. Wow.

:: Nice Githinji (and friends) finally made "All Girls Together" come to the big screen. That is what we call a modern day miracle ladies and gentlemen.

:: Angel Wainaina is now a rapper and radio presenter and a TV star to boot. Who said that ambition and hard don't pay?

:: Grandmaster Masese started playing his trusy obokano at public events again.

:: Clay Muganda still seems to know where all the coolest parties are.

:: Allan Odada left the modelling game for good. He now goes by the name Apostle Allan. Yup. He found religion.

:: Mugo Kibati is leaving East Africa Cables. He says that he has been thinking about it for a while.

:: Nameless is looking for a salary. To feed his lovely family. I am looking for a salary. To buy my lovely Tusker. All together now... "Salary ohhh! Salary oh oh oh! Salary ooooooohhh....."
