So the Kenyans have been kicking behind in recent times where the rugby is concerned. With our newfound interest for the game for men with odd balls perhaps I can interest you in some more international fare. Well the local variant of DHL Express recently hosted the live screening of the DHL Australia 2013 Lions Tour final match between British&Irish Lions and Qantas Wallabies at the Mercury Lounge ABC Place on Waiyaki Way in Nairobi.
It was a fun fill weekend as guests came together for the live screening of the final rugby match for the DHL Australia 2013 Lions Tour.
The guest list included the Kenya Rugby Union Chairman Mwangi Muthee, DHL Express Managing Director-Kenya Alan Cassels, ‘Minister of Rugby Arigi “Grrrr!!!” Obiero, former Nairosbi School 15s captain and Kenyan international Denis Keya among others. Sponsorship of the Tour strengthened the company’s portfolio of rugby partnerships and support around the world over the years in the UK, US, Kenya, the Netherlands, South Africa, Fiji and Australia.
DHL also successfully delivered rugby to the world in 2011 as the Official Logistics Partner of Rugby World Cup 2011 and was a partner of the 2005 DHL Lions Series in New Zealand.
“Rugby is about determination and teamwork, and these are qualities that resonate very strongly with DHL” said Alan Cassels, Country Manager DHL Express Kenya.
