Bank of Africa (“BOA”), one of the most innovative and fastest growing banks in Kenya has announced their sponsorship for this year’s Law Society of Kenya (“LSK”) Annual Conference. The bank is contributing Ksh.600,000 to the conference through the WAKILI ACCOUNT PRODUCT, four months after sponsoring the LSK Annual General Meeting in March this year. “It’s a great honor and privilege for Bank of Africa “BOA” to be partners with LSK and sponsor events on their calendar such as the LSK Annual Conference. We believe that the partnership of BOA and LSK is a strong initiative through which the Bank can offer support to a progressive National Association like LSK, but also offers a great opportunity to popularize our newly developed Wakili account,” said Mar Kwame Ahadzi, Managing Director of Bank of Africa in Kenya. Mr. Kwame applauded the LSK for soldiering on for 61 years since formation in 1949, and more so for being one of the most respected, responsible and enviable Professional Associations in Kenya, in the region and in Africa. He said that LSK has truly been active and true to its calling to be the premier bar association and legal development agency in the country. “As part of our strategy to deepen our partnerships with communities in the countries we operate in, BOA is proud to be associated with LSK and thereby contributing to the encouraging evolution of constitutionalism, democracy, rule of law and respect for human rights in Kenya,” said Mr. Ahadzi. Law Firms will greatly benefit from this product as it offers concessions and waivers on various current account operating costs, and thus makes it more efficient for the law firms to conduct their banking operations within BOA. Since the launch of Wakili Account in early 2010, hundreds of law firms have opened current accounts at the Bank’s 13 branches in Kenya. This year’s LSK Conference dubbed “Digesting Kenya’s Constitutional Moment: The Place of The Legal Profession in the Post-2010 Referendum” will be held at Leisure Lodge in the South Coast from 18th to 22nd August 2010 and is expected to be attended by over 700 LSK members. Among those expected to grace the conference include the Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs Hon Mutula Kilonzo, Hon. Martha Karua, Prof. Yash Pal Ghai, Prof. P.L.O Lumumba, Hon. Amos Wako among others. “We are happy to have Bank of Africa “BOA” as a partner of the LSK calendar of events, and especially this year’s annual conference. We sincerely thank the bank for recognizing that law firms have unique banking requirements that require a tailor made financial product. We cannot get a better sponsor than the BOA Wakili Account and we encourage our members to consider the benefits packaged therein and embrace the product “said Mr. Kenneth Akide, Chairman Law Society of Kenya. >> Similar links :: Bank of Africa now taps into non-profit space :: Bank of Africa opens in Ngong Road :: Bank of Africa (“BOA”) says hallo to Eldoret :: Bank of Africa profit grows by 209% :: Bank of Africa's new branch :: Rapid Transfer with Ecobank helps Africa Unite :: Consolidated bank unveils new identity :: Family Bank Launches Mobile Phone transfer platform :: Barclays SME customers to benefit from improved internet banking
