East African Breweries Limited launches a new bottle for its premium beer brand, Tusker Malt Lager (TML), which will give the consumers more value for their money.

The newly packaged bottle will now come in 330ml from the previous 300ml; a 10 per cent increase in volume with a new Recommended Retail Price (RRP) Sh85 which is a six per cent increase. This means customers are getting more value for their money.

TML maintains the same green coloured glass, but it now has the name “Tusker” embossed four times into the bottle rather than having a paper label on the bottle.

TML is brewed for a longer period of time to give a premium taste and the brewing team emphasise that this new process will not change the taste that consumers know and love.

East African Breweries feel that having maintained one look for years, it is time to revitalize the brand in order to give the old consumers something new and fresh whilst appealing to new consumers.

“TML is a premium beer that needs to evolve every so often to keep up with the changing trends of the sophisticated drinker,” says Seni Adetu, Group Managing Director, EABL.

“The drinkers of this premium beer are sophisticated consumers it is important to offer them a drink that adheres to the level of quality that they have come to expect”.

Being the brewer’s premium brand, launched in the local market in 1996 after years as an export only brand, special care and attention to the choosing the raw ingredients to the brewing process to ensure that the high quality is maintained.

It is brewed from the highest quality natural ingredients; barley malt, hops, yeast and water. Before the brewing process can begin, the ingredients are scrutinised and only accepted when they meet the highest requirements in brewing standards.

In order to ensure that quality is maintain until the consumer level, EABL has continuously trained its trade partners on how to handle, store and distribute all their products including TML.

We are offering consistent quality that they can depend on – every time they open a bottle of TML, it shall always taste the same and it will not disappoint,” Gerald Githinji, Managing Director, Supply, EABL.

This new look bottle ushers in a new era in the history of TML where the distinct impression being given to consumers all across the East African community, is TML is all about QUALITY! As our consumers walk with us through the journey that is TML, EABL want to highlight that TML is about outstanding Quality!

“The premium packaging that is the new TML, will give our consumers something new and exciting whilst still delivering the same great taste and outstanding quality,” says Seni Adetu, Group Managing Director, EABL.
