Had lunch recently with Bosaya at this joint in westlands called Osiepe Dishes. The place is located where "The Hutch" is right opposite the Shenanigans pub. While here, the first thing you notice is the crowd. Everyone in a shirt and tie. One of the more noticable things about this place though is the large number of corporate babes in that joint with their dark suits and pointy shoes. No its not an obsession with beautiful women. We all know how picky women get about dirt and how it needs to be as far away from them as is possible. The fact that I saw so many well dressed women was telling. The place was clean as these places go. I asked Bosaya to recommend a delicacy of the house and he recommended Aliya. The man had to explain that this was meat that had been Chomwad then cooked regularly after this making it very soft. The meal came and we munched away like our lives depended on it. The food was really good. At the end of the meal, the bill came and the food that I had scoffed down with some aplomb came to only one hundred shillings bob as that crazy mayor kingori we had would say. That took me aback. As far as I can tell, eating a meal of similar quality at kosewe would probably take me aback at least 250/=. It was really an eye opener. Check it out. |
