I got the sms telling me to watch str8 up a TV show aimed at younger members of the KTN audience. This show debuted recently as a news show for and by the young - this I read to mean under 25 years old. So why would someone ask me to watch a show that starts at 5pm and is aimed at a demographic that I do not belong to? I obliged and made sure that I was sitting in front of a TV at 5pm. I watched keenly as a dude who introduced himself as "your boy Dru." It must be cool to say this - note to self: write a whole post and start as many sentences with, 'this is you boy bandit". So I your boy bandit (see how easy it is to be cool?) kept watching the box and trying to figure out what I was supposed to be watching. Then she came. The str8 up (that’s straight up bwana Nasbyte) show seems to have an interview section and here they were interviewing a young achiever. Unlike in the Saturday morning TV shows where the achiever is usually a young dancer or archer who is a munchkin, the young achiever in this case was called Christine Kajumbi. She is a 27 year old entrepreneur who was introducing her new pharmacy called La BonVie pharmacy. The bespectacled lass who was interviewing Christine was no Larry King or Louis Otieno and her interview was not really useful. It seemed to consist on oohh and ahhing at the great achievement of having your own business at such a young age. So I made a point of visiting the pharmacy myself. La BonVie Pharmacy is situated at the ground floor of Utalii house behind the grand regency hotel. The pharmacy is situated right next to Mwenda's where I had ended my year 2006. The pharmacy has all manner of drugs and pharmaceutical stuff for you to buy should you be unwell. The beauty of this pharmacy though is that the place is open 24 hours. That’s right ladies and gentlemen; I can now announce (queue cheers and those strange creatures in the coke vending machine) that the Nairobi central business district has a 24 hour pharmacy . Even better is that you DO NOT have to use cash. You may use your visa cards to make purchases. This is good news indeed. Those guys who get sick have a place they can access drugs twenty four hours a day seven days a week. They also offer several designer perfumes and colognes and more products. And they will keep adding their product line. So If you have had too much to eat and need some antacids... La BonVie at Utalii House. If you haven’t had a shower in a week and need to disguise the chocking pungent fumes emanating from you... La BonVie at Utalii House. If you have suddenly hooked up and need to pull a clande and was bila condoms... La BonVie at Utalii House. Check it out y'all. And spread the word. We need to support our Christine. This is your boy Bandit signing off (Hey as the Digable Planets once said...I’m cool like that!). |
