The name Buddha Blaze is pretty well known in Kenyan entertainment circles. The man is recognisable for his unkenyan name – Buddha Omondi or Buddha Wanjala or Buddha Karis would have made a lot more sense but he has has stuck with it – and his American accent. He was first introduced to us as the guy working on the then revolutionary product that was PHAT Magazine. The product was to show the showbiz arena and really was one before its time.
A few years later he appeared as one of the movers and shakers working on the WAPI (words and pictures) brand which was for artists both visual and performance. The brand was so instrumental to the introduction of so many of the emcees that we see smiling (or glowering depending on the occasion) as they did a sideways peace sign to the cameras. Also benefiting was the graffiti gang as it was the first time we were able to see names like Uhuru in well presented manner.
Again he went back to the drawing board taking a job with the big brother in the advertising industry as he works on his next big thing. We may be onto it. The entrepreneur is the new brand ambassador of BORA WEAR a new men’s wear brand that works with HIV + women in kibera. The organisation who’s seamstresses receive St. Martha’s Ministry offers the best clothing for the guys. Check out the new clothing line y’all.
